I would recommend it to anyone who immigrated as a child or was boprn to immigrants. I felt such an intense understanding of the charcters and even though i didn't understand thier culture I understood why in a new nation they would turn to thier traditions. at times i felt like i was looking at my own life and childhood.

Soft, subtle meditations on immigration, family, and past. The feelings naturally occurring, silently rising out from under seemingly insignificant descriptions of suburbs and casual conversations. Lahiri weaves pensive spirits into your personal fabric before you have the chance to realize they’ve been sewn to your very skin.
