Given my history, I wonder if I should have liked it more. Frankenstein was a sweeping waltz of a classic; quick, languid, and only occasionally messy. Did it blow me away? Not really. But Mary Shelley *was* only 18 when she wrote it, so wow, credits to her. I'd like to re-read it without a deadline to truly absorb the imagery of her majestic prose, but for now, I'm kind of glad it's over. 4/5.

A slog to get through. If you aren't familiar with gothic literature some sentences will sound wordy and boring to get through. The plot is ok, some parts can be enjoyable. The main character's development is good I'll give it that.
