I'm not angry with this ending like I was Paper Towns. I am determined to peruse the internets and see if John Green addresses it somewhere. Maybe it doesn't matter, but, darn it - IT DOES. oh well.
I very much enjoyed this book and appreciated the way the characters were written, their actions, everything. It wasn't something that stands out to me to give it more than 3 stars but I think it was worth the time.
The characters will stay with me much like Hazel and Gus have.

the message of radical hope is so beautiful... although alaska may qualify as a manic pixie dream girl, i genuinely think that john green ate with this one. can't decide if it's a 3.75 or a 4 stars though

"Pudge" leaves his safe, normal life for boarding school. The book is written as a countdown to an unknown event. We follow him as he makes friends and tries a lot of new things, like making out with girls, alcohol, and cigarettes.
Then the event happens and everything changes.
I enjoyed this book, kinda. As a mom, I wanted to tell the teens not to do some of the things they were doing. I also wanted to hug them all when the bad things were happening. It was just a difficult book. So, I enjoyed it, but I also had a hard time with it. Well written, but emotionally hard.
