In 2005 when I was a senior in high school, the same year this book was published, one of my best friends died. I wish someone would've handed me this novel. Even Eight years later, it has helped me make sense of what I felt at 17.

This is the 3rd John Green book that I've read, and the first one I've liked. He is my teen daughters favorite author.

Definitely not the romance book I was expecting. It's a quick read that'll leave you wondering...

this book will forever be a five star read for me because of how it showed the characters processing grief. it was amazing and i love this book with all my heart.

Hmmmmmmmmmm I have mixed feelings about this read. I feel that I definitely would’ve enjoyed it more if I were still in high school. I feel that the story was heartfelt and interesting; I enjoyed how the aspects of their religion class were woven into the plot but I felt that some parts felt repetitive.
I also just can’t quite get over the whole like.. self-important teenagers who smoke and drink and pull epic pranks.. thing. Not to say it isn’t true to some facet of the high school experience, its just gets stale after the first few times.
Was sort of trudging through the last chunk of the book.
