Shame that none of the female characters were positioned as role models. Instead, they were either portrayed as promiscuous or requiring saving and protecting by the male peers.

got me feelin a lil melancholy

“i wanted to be one of those people that scorched the ground with their intensity”

the quotability .. am i right brother ?

“god. does jeff gordon have to put up with this shit?”

this book didnt change my life , but it tried really hard and i appreciate that. as an angsty teen , it probably would have fueled some sort of longing for excitement and “the great perhaps” but as a person who now pays bills , the great perhaps looks less like smoking and dying for the aesthetic and more like being able to find my own great perhaps in romanticizing the mundanity of everyday life.

WARNING! MAY CAUSE CONTROL LOSS OF THE TEAR DUCTS! This book was the first one I ever read by John Green, and by reading this one, I now realize how most of his fans say they love him, but also hate him. The storyline is amazing, and it really gets you kind of excited to see what happens next, but nothing could prepare you for what happens. This is the only book that has actually made me cry however, I wouldn't hesitate to read it again!
