Maturing is realizing that the love story wasn’t between Alaska and Pudge but was actually between Pudge and the Colonel.

A long time ago I tried to read this book. I didn't love it, but I also didn't hate it. Sad story with a note of hope at the end.

“Te pasas la vida encerrado en un laberinto pensando en cómo vas a escapar de ahí y lo fabuloso que será; imaginar ese futuro te mantiene con vida, pero nunca escapas. Solo utilizas el futuro para huir del presente.”

Looking For Alaska really grabbed my attention. It is filled with love, adventure, mystery. It has amazing vocabulary, like all John Green books. The only thing I didn't like about it is it seems unfinished. They never found out the mystery they were trying to solve. They find clarity and comfort. The characters are satisfied by the end. But the readers aren't. I still recommend the book but if you hate stories that don't really have the best ending, this might not be the book for you.

It's one of those books which surprises you with an unconventional ending. Also, it's nice to read a book that showcases the point of view of a guy in crush/love.

It was a fairly easy and enjoyable read. There are lots of quotable-quotes too. This book sparked my fan-hood for John Green's works.

1/5 - Terrible characters and plot.

I don’t know what to say. Alaska was terrible. She was a cheater and just too adventurous. Miles was terrible. He basically loved Alaska because she was hot and horny. And he cheated on Lara. I don’t understand why Takumi just left the school after leaving that note. Like lol, it’s not that big of a deal.

I remember a lot of this story from when I read it when I was younger. I knew Alaska dies but I just don’t care lol. Like what was even the point of her death?

Anyways, this book is not good to read when you’re not a teen so I will not be reading this again.

this was the first book I ever bought with my own money, and a book I’ve professed to be my “favorite book” for the last 8 years. With that being said, this is my first time re-reading since I was 16. It still was enjoyable to me. Male authors never fail with the endless obsession with female breasts tho

i think this book is a genius exploration of the male fantasy - especially within teenage boys. alaska is not a hero, she is not a manic pixie dream girl, no matter how much pudge tries to make her one. her demise and her mistakes prove that. i think she is such a great character because you like her despite her flaws.
