I love a good witchy book with a little romance zing, but I just never quite clicked with this story. I see why others enjoy, but I just didn’t find it propulsive and found the characters too single note. (And it wasn’t even steamy.) The last few chapters had a frustrating too-perfect feel that made me want to put down the book more than keep going. I am familiar with Chciago and the descriptions rubbed me the wrong way.

Even if Emmy can drive me a bit nuts sometimes, Harper has delivered a delightfully fun read. I already can't wait to get back to Thistle Grove!
