I actually loved it … why are they so cute together!

Do not know why I read this book it was the cringiest thing in my entire life. This belongs in wattpad.

I'm actually kinda annoyed by how much I didn't hate this story. Like it obviously has its many faults and ugh and ick moments, but like, in the end? I didn't hate it. It was a pretty dumb story plotwise and nothing really happened that had any consequence, but it was more about the character development I guess. And both characters went through a good change, I found them both so annoying to start with, but then actually by the end I was rooting for them. So I feel like I absolutely shouldn't have liked this, but in the end I did, and I'm not sure how to feel about that lol.

okay. this book. it’s a combination of Gossip Girl x A Walk to Remember (except the good girl gets corrupted by the bad boy and thoroughly enjoys it)

I hardly ever dislike books. I am not fussy, nor do I not finish a book because I don't like it. But this book? I hated it with a passion. Warning, there will be spoilers ahead, but hopefully, you're smart enough for that not to be a problem because you're not going to read it.

Characters are sexist arses. The plot is mostly characters talking about their boners and it lacks emotional depth beyond what seems like an entirely lust-driven form of love.
SpoilerI thought that Crew might have had some form of character development, but no. He continued to claim that he 'owned' Wren. He groped her and called it okay because 'her body liked it'. There is a line between possessive and downright misogynistic and creepy, and he damn well crossed it. He even goes so far as to chastise his friend for referring to girls as 'sluts', yet then proceeds to have a conversation with a teacher who is known for having sexual relationships with his students who are minors, discussing how much he wants his hand down Wren's pants.
Spoiler The worst part is that this is never addressed and is labelled as 'an act of love'.

I'm also highly disappointed that the whole novel is basically everybody being angry at a girl for having her own moral standards and for making a choice. They call her names and make it a game to disrespect this decision and to 'break her' or 'claim her'. It's awful. I may have been able to accept it if Crew had character development, at the very least, yet he still believes that he owns her and spends the whole novel trying to break her. It's like the men in this novel believe that women are pet dogs, I swear.

I'm genuinely sad that this is all written by a fellow female. The only reason that I am giving this book two stars and not one is because I am extremely generous, and I understand how difficult the process of writing a book is. There were also a few sweet parts, yet not enough to make up for the sour. I wish I could recommend this book, but honestly, out of the 56 books I've read so far this year, this has by far been the worst, and I'm sure it'll be a struggle to find worse than this.
