Overall, I think the books are nice, but I felt them more when I was a kid.I was mostly impressed with scenes where they are in the land of the dead, when they need to get separated from their demons, and in the end when they separate from each other. Narrators were great as well.

I enjoyed this one most in the series.

A fantastic end to the series! This is a truly wonderful series. Fans of Harry Potter would probably like it, as would fans of science fiction/fantasy and children's literature. Pullman creates a deep, believable world (actually, worlds), and characters who are fascinating and multi-faceted. This series is philosophical and gripping, and I am sure to read more of Pullman's books.

3.5 stars. This really dragged on for me, but also satisfied me in unexpected ways. Glad I finally reread these, I remembered basically nothing from childhood.
