This is my favourite out of Wendy's novella series.  It was filled with longing and loving looks, angst and heartache, banter and golden retriever energy. I wish this was longer. It made me feel so many things and I loved Silene as a character.

Silene had to endure so much but her heart never faulted, she always allowed herself to have little happinesses. The world is good, the more you read through the books the further you know about the world. Silene's relationship with Az is so heartfelt. He was so protective over her and just wanted her to be happy.

The ending made me absolutely sob. I was sad but happy and just. ughhhhhh

I'm glad Silene got to be with Gabriel, even if it was so short. He just wanted to love her and give her everything. And she gave it up so she could be with him and lost him anyway. The fact that Gabriel had to spend the next 500 years being near her and knowing she will never remember him. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH the heartache

THEN THE LAST FEW PAGES... I want to believe in the tales. I want to believe she remembered him after the 500 years. That they fell in love again and stayed together happy. "But the tales are kind. So kind. And fates were not." FUCK THE FATES FIX MY HEART

Be still my heart. I so wished this was a full length novel so there was time to develop the world and magic more. But the pacing was incredible and I loved these characters

🇫🇷Cette histoire m’a laissée bouche bée. Je sais que je suis quelqu’un d’assez sensible, mais l’histoire de Silene & Gabriel m’a profondément émue. J’ai pleuré pendant les 40 derniers % de ma lecture. Voilà une nouvelle qui m’a retournée et dont je me souviendrai encore longtemps. Si vous cherchez une lecture qui vous suspendra hors du temps, et qui explore les mystères de la mortalité, le pouvoir de la découverte de soi et l'attrait de la fantaisie, et de la mythologie alors voilà un choix parfait. 

🇺🇸This story left me speechless. I know I'm a pretty sensitive person, but Silene & Gabriel's story moved me deeply. I cried for the last 40% of my reading. This is a story that turned me upside down and that I'll remember for a long time to come. If you're looking for a read that will suspend you out of time, and explore the mysteries of mortality, the power of self-discovery and the allure of fantasy, and mythology then this is a perfect choice.
