This is took me back to my childhood. I can visualize 8 year old me reading this book and having a great time. I couldn't keep the smile off my face as I was reading this book. It still ranks high for me. I am still a Potterhead. I love the story and it's very relatable. I know this author has her misgivings but the books are top tier for me.

Soooo.. I finally read a Harry Potter book, and oh my am I in love!!
After reading some heavy books this was a 10/10 cure loved it so much
I read this book for two reasons:
1) The movie was coming out, and I love sci-fi/fantasy movies, and I always like to read the source material before seeing the film.
2) I was sick and stuck on my couch for a few days and my cousin Rose was nice enough to lend me the first four books (which was all that was out then).
Anyway, I am glad I wound up reading it, because it is one of my favorite series, and I am anxiously awaiting the last book.
Update: I revisited this book on audio with Stephen Fry narrating it, and it was excellent. Highly recommended.
