such a fun read. travel novel and meditations on rituals around death and grieving in one. found myself wishing she’d gone into more depth on the different rituals in some places, but I don’t think that’s quite what the book was trying to do. i had a great time and am left with a lot to think about and a lot of further reading to do.

I have officially read all three of Caitlin’s books, I wish there were many more. I adore her writing. I could sit here for hours just learning about death and dying. I absolutely adored this, especially learning about how other cultures handle their deaths.

An eye opening and heartwarming book about death around the world. Surprisingly not morbid at all.

Interesting enough content, but I read the book without knowing who Doughty was and kept thinking to myself, "What's with the Youtuber humor?" Imagine my surprise when I actually googled her, LOL.

As someone who has recently experienced a death, this was initially a tough read due to the rawness of the event. However, this was something I needed to grasp on my own and I’m better for it.

I never write reviews but this book was fantastic. I literally never thought I’d be so intrigued by a book about death rituals. If you’re considering it, read it!
