Maybe it been too long since I had a major loss to relate to this book, or maybe my losses have been different than the characters…I found the self-loathing to be tiresome, “bro” was used so much and felt unnecessary due to understanding each character’s inner monologue, and the pacing did feel more dragged out. I also wasn’t sure where the story was going to go most of the time…I did look forward to the new chapters to see how things change over time though.

Maybe more of a 2.5 for me.

I never expected to enjoy this book as much as I did. It jumps year to year but you see the comfort these two characters bring to each other. I love the way they helped each other through their grief and beyond. This book shows that grief has no time limits.
