I'm not a huge Ferrante person, but I heard intriguing things about the movie and wanted to read this first. It's an interesting addition to the many mothers-struggling-with-motherhood books I seem to be reading lately (but I'm not really one of them!), but it's...darker. I feel like I don't know what to take away from this- just a morose story about a pretty unkind person.
