This book is definitely the best so far in the series. If I didn't already know there are more books in this originally planned trilogy, I would say that this was the perfect ending to the series.
There was so many plot twists in this book, I felt like I had whiplash. Like that whole thing with Sebestian/Johnathan.
I love that Clary and Jace were finally able to be together. I cried so hard when Jace died and then some more when Clary asked the angel to bring him back.

By the time I got to book 3, I was super tired of Jace's shit.

da primeira trilogia de instrumentos esse até agora foi o melhor, sem sombras de dúvidas!
senti que mesmo os três se passando em tipo, um, dois meses na cronologia (prefiro imaginar que não pra ser feliz, me deixa), os personagens apresentaram um amadurecimento que eu esperei tanto. são adolescentes, mas ninguém tem 13 anos, estão perto da maioridade, então mesmo tendo momentos de imaturidade e idiotice total, eu espero um pouco mais de responsabilidade da parte deles e isso eu consegui em cidade de vidro.
outra coisa que me surpreendeu de forma positiva foi que mesmo já tendo visto a cidade de alicante e idris e afins, na série, isso não influenciou em nada na minha leitura e eu consegui imaginar tudinho em ter nada pronto na minha mente. sou do tipo que lê e visualiza tudo, e a alicante formada na minha cabeça ao ler foi muito melhor que a alicante da série (o que não é muito difícil, convenhamos). foi com certeza o livro da saga que eu mais fiquei imersa na estória e isso me fez aumentar meia estrela, eu sentia tudo e foi como se eu estivesse junto deles lá.
não sei o que me espera na segunda trilogia de instrumentos mortais, mas espero que os personagens melhorem cada vez mais assim como a escrita da clare melhorou e que o simon e a izzy fiquei juntinhos logo (nada contra simon e maia, mas é uma merda). estou super ansiosa para cidade dos anjos caídos, mas primeiro irei ler a trilogia de peças infernais (que me prometeram muito), então ainda ficarei longe dos personagens de instrumentos e não vejo a hora de voltar pra eles!

The story line has improved since the first book. The main story had a fairly satisfactory ending. And some great character development occurred with Simon, the best friend turned vampire. Quibbles are the side stories. I never really felt they were properly developed. Some of the issue may have been in the character development department. We never cared enough about the characters to care about the issues. Also as an adult reading YA I realize I'm not really the target audience but I didn't appreciate the adult bashing in the book. When reading the really good YA books it is good across the spectrum of readers because all the characters act like real people not caricatures.
The books in this series get progressively better. I feel that I would have been excepting of the fact that this was the last installment of the series, but I cannot wait to read the next one! I also feel that the epilogue was unnecessary. The last chapter would have been enough.

Well, I am glad that the most important question of my teenage years was answered in this book. Are Jace and Clary ACTUALLY brother and sister? It was in fact stressing me out for years. Hence why I finally decided to finish the series now.
Valentine is dead. We know who Jace's true parents are. Magnus appears to be introduced to the Lightwoods as Alec's boyfriend. What is left in the final three books to continue this storyline?
Now the most stressful question on my mind is do I take a break from this series and focus on something else? Or do I keep going in attempt to finish the series?
