I don't really know much about Cassandra Clare's history, I've seen a lot of reviews saying this series is a fanfiction/copy of other books, but I did enjoy this book. I don't see it as a copy, it has some similarities with other books I have read, but most books do now a days.

I am going to assume that if you are reading this you have read the first two books, I honestly only started reading this series because I read the Infernal Devices books and could not put them down. I'd owned book one and two for about a year read a chapter of book one then put them down.

I am not happy with the "plot twist" that was used in the first two books.
Spoiler Jace and Clary are brother and sister. I knew as soon as I read that it would turn out to be fake because of the constant pressure that was given to their feelings to each other.
I think that the twist was honestly a complete waste of time.

This book to me seemed like filler almost.
Spoiler Sure they defeated the bad guy and Clary does it while tied up and unable to speak. and then she uses the one wish she gets to bring back the "love" interest in the book. okay great, but the rest of it just doesn't seem to flow the way the Infernal Devices books do.

The difference to me with the Mortal Instruments and the Infernal Devices is that the ID books drew me in and I could NOT put them down. I finished both books in a day. The MI books are nice, and a decent read but I don't have a need to KNOW what happens, they are a little predictable.

I am hoping book 4 and 5 make me a little more attached to the characters.

Let me just say that THANK GOD CLARY AND JACE ARE NOT REALLY BROTHER AND SISTER! I know that as an adult reader these young adult books are extremely predictable, and I can't pretend like I didn't see this coming from book 2 (when the Inquisitor questioned the star scar on Jace's shoulder), but still, I actually said out loud "thank god" when we officially found out. Call me a sucker for romance, but I wanted it to work between those crazy kids. I also wanted to believe that Clare had original ideas, and did not take ALL her themes from Star Wars.

My review of the first book was Okay, but I've actually begun to really like these stories. At first, I thought Simon turning into a vampire was ridiculously absurd, but I get why she did it. I also started to enjoy the changing of narrators through this book. It happened more than once (what was up with that in the first book?!?) and helped you get to know other characters better.

To be honest though, I don't know why she came up with a fourth book. Most of the things you wondered about are closed. I know she tried to leave some conflict open at the end of the book, what with Clary wondering about her other memories, and the prediction of Jace falling in love with the wrong girl, but honestly - who cares? I don't even want to read the 4th book because I was extremely content with the ending of the series with the ending of the 3rd.

Can anyone let me know if the fourth is actually worth reading? Or will it just make me upset?

dioses que final- que bueno que saqué el cuatro para leerlo porque OMG
adventurous emotional medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Complicated
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

"you're my sister, my sister, my blood, my family. i should want to protect you" OH GOD JACE EW PLEASE SHUT UP YOU DON'T NEED TO SAY AnYMORE. also both izzie and clary are the most not like other girls girls, so honestly good for them for finally making friends with other girls
adventurous challenging mysterious tense

The plot twists in this book will shatter everything you thought you knew!
No if you hurt Clary she is quite capable of killing you herself possibly with a variety of weapons.

I actually enjoyed City of Glass much more than City of Bones and City of Ashes. Characters like Alec and Isabelle, who I wasn't really fond of before, I really like now, and Clary is a lot more tolerable as well. Of course, I still had some problems with it, especially with Clary and Jace's relationship, but all in all, it was an exciting read. I can't wait to read the next book in the series, now that it's been revealed that Clary and Jace aren't siblings and Valentine is dead. I have a feeling Sebastian isn't dead though, and he's going start causing even more trouble!

THANK GOD THEY ARENT SIBLINGS. NO MORE INCEST! YIPPEE! (ironically there ended up ACTUALLY being incest but i’m choosing to ignore that)

This book was definitely more interesting than the first two, but I'm not sure if I care enough about the characters to keep going.

lmao i loved this book!!! so action packed, full of reveals and the war (THAT plot line) is over!!!
