Did not see that ending coming but stupid male vampires don't want to change their dumb laws. Not fun, bro just get with the times.

Great continuation of the previous book and wow what an ending. Darren's growth throughout the series has been a ride so far. Excited to see what happens next. So far this one has equalized Trials of Death as my favorite in the series. I know people love the cirque but this vampiric society and it's continuing strife and conflict within itself is so interesting to me.

Oh Darren, how you break my heart and make me laugh all at once, I will never understand! What a whirlwind this read was!

Summary: Branded a traitor, betrayed by a friend, hunted by the vampire clan -- Darren Shan, the vampire's assistant, faces certain death. Can Darren reverse the odds and outwit a Vampire Prince, or is this the end of thousands of years of vampire rule? Darren's initiation on Vampire Mountain draws to a stunning, bloody conclusion -- but the Saga continues ...

What I liked about this book: This was a fast-paced, in-your-face, do-or-die adventure that gripped my heart, tore my insides to shreds then restored my faith in happy endings. Darren grows into his role in this book and works so hard to do what's right that he nearly dies in his fight for it. But at the same time, the lines between right and wrong are blurred. How do you know that what you've been taught to do, is right? What if what has always been right, is really wrong? What do you do when you're thrown into war and have to kill or be killed. Is killing for the sake of survival right or is it wrong? Is killing to defend what you believe in, right or wrong?

Once again, [a:Darren Shan|5816|Darren Shan|http://photo.goodreads.com/authors/1192947698p2/5816.jpg] has taken me on an emotional rollercoaster as fierce as the raging waters of the waterfall Darren faces in Vampire Mountain with a message as profound as the Vampire's anthem, "Even in death, may you be triumpant."

Every time I read one of these books I'm reminded of why it's taking me so long to finish the series. But hey, at least the vampires don't sparkle.

This book only lost a star because of ot beginning, it felt a little dragged out to me, though I will admit it way have only felt like that because I was desperate to know what happened next. This book really highlights the fact that things arent always black and white, there are shades of grey thst can make things difficult. I like the way things are progressing and I have my suspicions about who the prophecy may be about, so excited to keep reading this series.

Okay, this is getting kinda too absurd.
Having Darren- a half-vampire win over Arra and achieving several feats, yeah sure I can accept that.
But having an entire mountain of vampires to vote for him to be a prince? Woah, that’s ridiculous.

Other than that, the plot in this 6th book is also mediocre compared to that of the 4th and the 5th. A total letdown, to be honest.

My least favorite so far. The rest have been great, but this one was a dud for me.

FUN FUN! Some sadness in the losses but so much excitement in the read. The fun is from beginning to end. At times I think it's best with these short reads. No time to waste.
