A classic, I loved the story and the details. I wish the ending had been more explained and not so abrupt but other than that it was a cute story.

My rating is more of a 3.25 - 3.5 (I haven't really decided yet.)
This book was surprisingly easy to read! It was really fun, and I think I would've liked it a lot as a kid.
I will say, though, that when the witch died, it seemed like the story became more drawn out, and it really didn't feel necessary! The book could've been maybe 30-50 pages shorter, and if it were, I would've given it another star.
But overall, really enjoyed myself!

After 30 years of owning this book, I finally got around to reading it. As a kid, I would have hated it. Now, at least I can say I read it.
Great read aloud for my 3 and 5 year olds. I really like this edition's illustrations. Such a fun book.

A surprisingly funny and breezy read, the characters of this book are a lot of fun. The book does get a bit dark at points but the lighthearted tone means that isn’t dwelled on too much. The pacing is a bit off and perhaps the story could have resolved sooner but the writing is so enjoyable you don’t mind too much. Very much still a children’s classic imo
