Banger from front to back. Oh Irish people, thank you for making me fall in love with the English language time and time again. Also, this about solidifies horror as my favorite book genre. I'm a happy boy.

I'm gonna be quoting Van Helsing's "King Laughter" monologue for the rest of my life.

Brilliant. I wasn’t sure I was going to get into it while reading part 1 but I stuck it out. I think the fact that the book is written as journal entries took some time to get used to but wow. It was so good. I’m going to read it again because I know I missed a lot of minor details the first time around. I definitely recommend following a study guide while reading it - there is so much subtext to unpack. I understand why this is a much loved classic.

I really enjoyed listening to this on audio. I think my favorite voice was Dr. Seward, because it really made his character come to life. However, I expected there to be a lot....more of Dracula than there was. I was a smidge disappointed that there was more planning about fighting him than there was about actually fighting.
