This is such a beautiful short story about a mother and daughter and the unfortunate reality of living in an abusive household.

Etaf wrote this so believable, I truly felt the characters pain. 

Please pick this up. It's so worth it!

Mama, the word like a bullet to my chest.

It's kind of inpressive how much emotion this book carries while being so short — a devastating but profound look at an individual experience of suffocating familial/cultural & gendered expections, generational trauma, and (being) mothers.
