The Orpheus story line was fun to read while just having coincidentally finished watching the 3rd/final season of The Golden Compass/Dark Materials. I’d read the Dark Materials trilogy years ago, but wouldn’t have remembered/made the connection between Lyra’s and Orpheus’ ascent from the land of the Dead otherwise. The contrast between the two travelers’ outcomes is delightful.
