A quote that will stay with me:
“Do men envy the women they fall in love with too?”
I imagine it’s a no. And yet, I am not comfortable in my skin the way men are. I don’t receive the same unearned respect. I don’t have the confidence. I question my worth and the space I take up existing while men like Desantis and Trump are elected to the highest political offices (hopefully only the later and HOPEFULLY only the one time).
This book was poignant, powerful, delicate, and deeply personal. The art style perfectly telling a story of a woman questioning the very system that subjugates her. Big week for books about women’s place in a patriarchal white supremacist world questioning their roles and motherhood.
I cannot speak highly enough of this book. I even purchased it so I can keep it forever.
