OMG! This is creepy! If you want monsters, they are here in abundance. Human and inhuman alike.

Yes!

My YouTube Review can be found here: https://youtu.be/g7RGR84E-XA

This book is very good, but... it has a lot of difficult passages to read and deals with extreme bullying of a 12 year old and paedophilia. It is a good horror book but it is hard to get past the very difficult subject matter.

As a vampire book it is a little different, and the fact it's a little girl is refreshing that she takes control and her power, that she meets our 12 year old getting bullied and moves to help.

This book was far too long than it had any right to be. There were a lot of lulls, repetitive situations, and, for me, it was one of those books you needed to be in the right mood to read. I think that must be why it took me over a month to read it. I'd note parts I liked, but it was so mind-numbing and repetitive, I can barely remember the parts I did. There were few interesting characters, the romances in the book felt clumsy and awkward - which I understand from Oskar, but not so much Virginia and Lacke - and overall, it was just generally hard to really get into.

This is a really well-written book that I did not care for. There's dark and bleak and then there's this book. As an avid horror reader it takes a lot to make me want to skim certain parts of a book because it's just *too much,* but I felt the need to do that on multiple occasions. There was just so much in this book that didn't really need to be there, and in the process I felt the story dragging me down further and further into its well of darkness.

I felt this one was largely overrated. The plotting was all over the place. Just didn’t do it for me.

The bullying and pedophilia was more scary than any of the vampire stuff. The vampire stuff was really sad
