This manga is super adorable and I think it will appeal to a lot of readers!
After an attack Himari is unable to attend high school due to trauma. However, her caring sister Mio devises a plan to have her sister take her place from time to time at her own school to slowly help bring her sister back in to the world. Mio has a strong support system of friends that prove to be valuable to Himari and allow her to feel comfortable as she acts as her sister from time to time.
The twin switcharoo plot has been done before but I think this one if a fresh take as there is no apparent sibling rivalry or unnecessary drama. They seem to really care about one another and get along well which I enjoyed seeing. The art is very pleasing and cute as well which makes it nice to look at!
I will be anxiously awaiting the future volumes to see how the romances develop and how Himari continues to progress in the world.

Sunbeams in the Sky is about a set of twins, Himari and Mio, who for the first are finally going to a different in high school. Himari is excited to go to her new prestigious school after working hard and passing the entrance exam. But after a horrid event happens, Himari stops going to school altogether. In her attempt to help her sister, Mio asks Himari to go to her school pretending to be her. Himari reluctantly agrees, but there she finds that maybe high school isn’t so bad.
A very sweet manga! I really liked the relationship of Himari and Mio. The plot is straightforward and this story is be try easy to get into. I’m interested to see how the story will progress and all the drama that is sure to ensue.
The art is beautiful and the main character designs are cute. This first volume was a little slow paced but I think everything and everyone was introduced well. Also, where’s their parents??
I’m looking forward to continue reading this series!

Thank you to NetGalley, Yen Press, and Monika Kaname for the ARC and allowing me this opportunity to read and share my thoughts!
This story follows Himari, a twin sister to Mio. For most of their life they have always been connected and went to the same school. Himari decides to transfer to a different high school without telling her sister. However, the transfer was not kind to Himari and she ends up dropping out of school, never leaving the house. Mio, wanting to help her sister out, asks her a favor... To dress up as her and attend class for her.
Himari has to pretend to be her sister even though their personalities are very different and she doesn't know how Mio acts around her fellow classmates. As well as Himari trying to overcome her own trauma within the story.
I loved the sisters. You can tell they care about each other and Mio is so funny when bouncing off of her more stoic sister. I really loved Himari too. You can tell she has a big heart and can read people fairly well, trying to make them happy and comfortable. The male lead is very kind, although we haven't seen too much of him outside of being a nice prince like character. I honestly can't wait for future installments of his manga because I can tell it can be so good. Highly recommend!

This a sweet start to a manga series. After Himari experiences a terrifying incident, she ends up dropping out of school, since she can no longer stand to go. Her sister, Mio, who goes to a different school, decides the best way to get Himari back to her old self is to swap places! This story's plot is pretty simple, twins swapping places is a trope with a long history. But something about this is so cute, it makes you want to keep reading. Himari and Mio have very different personalities and seeing how they interact is actually pretty fun. All of the characters feel unique, and they all make you want to root for them. I especially want to root for Himari. The incident she went through is actually pretty dark; I was concerned this manga was about to go in a very different direction. I also think Himari has PTSD since she does suffer a short flashback during a scene. It's not really talked about or anything, just sort of implied. I highly doubt they will go into any depth into that, but hopefully will bring it up somehow. Asides from those brief heavy moments, the rest of the manga is full of cliche tropes, but they're cliche in the best way. I'm very excited to read the next volume whenever it comes out!

Ok but this manga was so cute. I LOVED it. You can BET I will be purchasing a physical copy (once I’m off my ban) because how much I loved this.
Chapters 01 - 05: This seems like a really entertaining series and I look forward to reading the next volume especially after the way this one left off in the middle of the school festival.
Sunbeams in the Sky by Monika Kaname follows twins sisters, Mio and Himari as they go to different schools for the first time. Early in the volume, Himari is assaulted and no longer wants to attend school. She spends her days at home until one day, Mio asks if Himari will pretend to be her and go to her school. From there, we get some classic twin switching antics that are always a lot of fun.
I really enjoyed this first volume. It was light and fluffy for the majority of it and the twins were different enough that it was very easy to keep them separated. I liked how Mio’s friend was in on the switch and tried to help Himari act more like her sister.
I didn’t love the way this volume opened with an assault. That is a harrowing experience and seemed to come out of nowhere and just ended up being there to push the plot forward. It was a crazy tone shift from the rest of the volume with almost no time spend on Himari’s head to see how she was coping with it. I think there were several other ways the author could have gone about making Himari quit going to school that would have kept with the light hearted theme the rest of this volume had.
That being said, I really enjoyed the rest of the volume. It was cute and funny. It felt very classic teen romcom which is exactly what I wanted. I will be continuing this series because I think they will continue to get better with time.
Thank you so much to netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book ahead of its release. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I thought this was a super cute manga. Identical twins who personality wise are different essentially get up to twin mischief and switch places for a few days. Obviously this gets complicated and there are some mishaps that happen along the way.
I think the one thing to note about this manga is the main character, Himari, has a traumatizing experience in the very beginning and can't be around boys. I think that is worth noting in case anyone needs that trigger warning. However, it does not go into much detail as to what exactly happens other than she was attacked and then saved.
Cute start to a manga. I would be interested to see where it goes from here.
