Chocolate Chip Cookies Murder, 2000
Hannah Swensen 1
Joanne Fluke
@kensingtonbooks

Bonus novella after Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder.
This was a cute little story/mystery. It's not a murder mystery though. The story centers around a young girl named Candy, who breaks into The Cookie Jar and sleeps there at night. Hannah allows her to stay and gets her to work in the shop, but Candy's identity and history are a mystery.
Merged review:
Alright. I did enjoy parts of this book a lot. I've heard great things about this series, but this book just didn't quite live up to it.
For one, I was really dismayed by the fact that Hannah was really smart and had great intuition throughout the entire sleuthing expeditions she went on, but she lacked the common sense to figure out who the murderer was when it was right in front of her. Seriously? If there's a three-member family and you eliminate two as suspects, why not consider the third? Especially when she's a raving, bitch-faced socialite who obviously loves her home that's in danger of being taken away by *guess who!* the man who was murdered?
Another problem I had was the fact that Mike Kingston is supposed to be moving out of the city to get away from the fact that he lost his wife and child in a gang related shooting...and yet he asks Hannah out on a date the second time he meets her and sounds way too confident doing it? I call bullshit.
I'm going to keep reading because this was the first book and it might take a bit for the series to get going.

This is a reread for me and still gave it 4 stars. This book is fun and a easy read. I love that her mother always tries to set her up. They made a bet and she lost to her mother.

Mt. TBR 2022: book #1
This was a fun read. I am looking forward to checking out the next few books in the series. The only thing that kind of bugged me about this book was I felt that at certain points in the book, Hannah discussed the investigation a lot more than she should have. Did anyone else feel this way?

Was reading in car with my ex that wouldn’t listen to more fantasy style books. It was a good book but I would probably have to restart it.
