Like other similar mystery authors Joanne Fluke writes a decent mystery that keeps me guessing. Her books are easy reads and enjoyable as well. They lack a depth that makes writers like, oh say, Mary Higgins Clark, successful but by no means are they poor.
As with most of this genre of mystery I usually can't figure out the "who dun it" until the reveal and that's what keeps me reading the books.
The themed mystery books are nice because you get use to a particular set of main characters and drawn into their personal stories as well as the current mystery they are trying to solve.
Joanne Fluke and her books keep a spot on my "to read" list. :)

If you want to read something entertaining, but that doesn't really make you think at all, this is your book. I like a good mystery and this was fun for that, but it just didn't have anything particularly memorable or unexpected.
This was fine. I’ve read better and I’ve read worse. Parts of this seemed quite dated to me since it was written in the early 2000s. I also felt this was WAY too long.

It’s a fine cozy mystery. There are a few problematic moments, and the heroine isn’t all bad. I did enjoy the juxtaposition of ending a chapter dealing with a murder, then finding a cookie recipe on the following page. Maybe I’ll try to make the Chocolate Chip Crunchies?
i thought, should I? Why not? Here's why not...pure drivel. Not a single redeeming factor, not one. Unless i try to make some of the cookie recipes, they might be good. First time out with this author and this series. And the last.
