The story is 'eh' - seemed like it was taking a lot of time to really get into it, and reminds me why chick-lit and mysteries don't usually work as a hybrid.
Verdict is still out on the recipes. I baked the Chocolate Chip Crunch cookies, which are okay. Nothing spectacular, but not horrible. Pecan Chews are next on the docket.

This is a cute little cozy mystery. It's a little stereotypical at times, but not a bad way to pass an afternoon. I did enjoy this one, the first in the series, more than the Sugar Cookie Murder, a later one in the series.
I liked it in 2012. I wrote about it: "It it not very funny, but I did enjoy it. Girly, with cookies, crime and likeable sister."

Plus half a star for the recipes in the book, but the entire thing felt like the author didn't properly think out the mystery and kept changing her mind on who did it part way through.
