Still processing how I feel about this one. On the whole I liked the small town Fluke constructed. I could take or leave the recipes, but, hey, they do make sense.
This is a pleasant, light mystery. I can't say that I really grew to care about the characters, but I definitely was surprised when the killer was revealed.
Cute story- and I do plan to make some cookies from the included recipes.

I think this would be classed as a cozy mystery with the added bonus (or temptation for those trying to watch their weight) of including cookie recipes. Hannah Swensen, a cookie bakery owner turned amateur detective is the main character for this series. She's a confident, independent, (and single much to her mother's dismay) business women. She always enjoys helping people and sometimes gets a little to gungho with the investigating. The added family dynamics are fun with personality types that I think everyone has bumped into now and then. I found myself double guessing who did the murder several times so it's not as predictable as it seems. It was a fun non-graphic mystery series that I can hopefully continue later as time permits. Now I just have to try some of those recipes because they sound delicious!
Hanna Swensen came back to her hometown to help her parents. She started a cookie baker called the "Cookie Jar" and is a popular hang out for the town. Much to her dismay her mother seems to think a woman can't be complete without a man and keeps trying to set her up with every eligible male in town. She feels no need for a man in her life and is content with what she has now. However, her life takes a swift change when their milk delivery man is found murdered nearby. Her brother-in-law, who recently went through detective training for the police department, has been tasked for solving the murder. She offers to help because who else could garner all that gossip and information better than a caterer and main gossip locale in town? She'll discover a lot of town secrets and change her list of suspects several times. Sooner or later she'll discover the culprit but the question is whether she can do that without endangering herself.

A fun audiobook to listen to on a road trip. Loved all the characters, mystery was fun, and easy to follow plot. I plan to listen to the other books in this series. A good cozy mystery.
