Echoes of ‘The Yellow Wallpaper’ with a feeling of Angela Carter. Beautiful, haunting and one of the best pieces of writing I’ve ever read.

I had high expectations as it's Persephone book chosen to be reprinted. I was disappointed. The premise had all kinds of potential but ultimately I thought the main character was a boring wimp.

I read an old edition paperback. I at least like the cover!
