I read this poem for Victober Bookclub. It was interesting to see how the author used the Goblins that we find in many tales as those malevolent and grotesque creatures to portray the wicked men who deceive the innocent maidens and with this poem she mainly emphasized the great importance of chastity and the danger of lust.

Let's just see it as an innocent poem about sisterhood. I loved the beautiful illustrations.

I enjoyed many, if not most, of the poems in this book, especially Goblin Market. For anyone who would like to enter the world of poetry, this is a good start. Just keep in mind that many poems in the book are metaphors for Christianity or death—it might make them easier to understand and appreciate.
