For some reason I thought it was both longer and not a poem. Despite that, I really enjoyed it.

Rustic and musical and scandalous - recommend for poetry lovers!

I have always loved this poem. So nice to read it again!

This was a reread so I can read another book that uses this poem to create a story. I needed a refresher so I didn't miss anything.

A both beautiful, witty and funny use of words and rhymes in a quite multifaceted collection. Maybe it’s a bit too wide a range, but at least it’s tied together through the Romantic’s view on nature and death.

Never mind my bruises,
Hug me, kiss me, suck my juices
Squeez’d from goblin fruits for you,
Goblin pulp and goblin dew.
Eat me, drink me, love me;

Gay! Pastoral! Religious! Mysterious! Lots of fruit!
Studied this one for A-level English and enjoyed reading it to my love as she fell asleep ❤️

It was super spooky and I'm trash for wanton faerie destruction so

This was an unexpected story. The only other sibling I have happens to be an older sister, so stories about sisters always hit me deeply. This one was no different. I loved that there were so many different ways one might interpret the goblins and the fruit they sell. It was reminiscent of the Garden of Eden and the devil convincing Eve to eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. The fruit could mean temptation in general, sin, sex, greed, and/or consumerism. It is multifaceted and manages to capture your heart quickly. This story communicates that fantasy doesn't have to be complicated to make a big impression.

As sympathetic feminist critics have noted, Goblin Market is an inspired, original female reworking of the old misogynist myth of the Biblical Garden of Eden, Eve's weakness, temptation and fall, the subsequent loss of paradise, the sacrifice of a personal savior, and redemption. (Where the old myth enters its final phase, there is no redemption.)
