Very short and "sweet", I enjoyed re-reading this. My reading of this is enriched by knowing the implications this text had at the time it was written <3
This is my mother's favorite poem, and for that reason, it will always have an extremely special place in my heart.

I want to read more of her work before I can decide on the author's style. Favourite poem in the collection would have to be An Old-World Thicket.
Happy reading!

Loved "Goblin Market." I gravitated towards Rossetti's longer poems rather than her shorter ones.
Favorite lines:
"Evening by evening
Among the brookside rushes,
Laura bow’d her head to hear,
Lizzie veil’d her blushes:
Crouching close together
In the cooling weather,
With clasping arms and cautioning lips,
With tingling cheeks and finger tips."
"She kiss’d and kiss’d her with a hungry mouth."

Utterly exquisite. This is the third or fourth time in which I’ve read Rossetti’s masterpiece, and I am still finding so much within it to admire.
