Carson's work in these three translations remains a work of art capable of effortlessly reducing me to awe-struck silence. She is a master of language, a historian who explains her reasoning and rationale regarding how she translated the works before each work. "It's rotten work. / Not to me--not if it's you." That's Carson babey! Incredibly good, tender and juicy all the way to the marrow. Fantastic.
