What a Hawky good time
When I opened this book I had an idea that there was going to be this hostility between Everly and Hawk. I wasn't prepared for the emotional pull this story would have on my heart.
Everly Thomas has been running from the grief of losing her mother since she was 17 years old, a decade later she's finally catching her breath and coming home. Hawk Madden is missing a piece of himself, one he had to let go when he was 18 and he wants to know why.
The connection between Everly and Hawk never diminished, from the first time their eyes reconnected, it felt like they both could finally breathe again. The emotional healing and the swooniness that is Hawk Madden made this book so real and easy to immerse myself in.
Beautiful second story to Honey Mountain. I'm eagerly waiting for Make You Mine!

This was…beautiful. Hawk loved Everly so fiercely, even though she had broken his heart. Everly’s growth throughout the book was admirable and acknowledging that she isn’t all of a sudden whole and may never will be felt poignant. An absolutely fantastic read.
If you hate emotional scenes and heartfelt cliches, this book probably isn’t for you. It’s veryyyyy sappy and so sweet it’ll give you a cavity. The heroine, Everly, had already cried 3 times by the time I was 11% into the book.
A super quick and easy read. It’s a good book with some good tropes:
- second chance romance
- small town
- athlete and trainer (Everly’s a sports psychologist)
All in all, I didn’t hate it. Didn’t love it… but definitely didn’t hate it.

I’m like a little embarrassed to have this on my list. It was trash. But it got two stars because I ate it up…
