DNF @ Chapter 6.

I loved Carry On, Wayward Son, and Fangirl but this is a complete mess. I've been trying for days to like it but I just can't so I've given up. For the first 6 chapters Georgie wakes up, goes to work, thinks about her Hisband calling her 45x, and then goes to bed. In every chapter. Reading the same chapter 6x gets boring quick.

Other complaints, (1) Georgie makes a "joke" about how much her sister is eating and when Georgie's sister Heather asks her to stop because she worried she'll develop an eating disorder, Georgie's response is "no one in out family gets eating disorders". Very dismissive. It gets worse when you realize that multiple times in the first couple of chapters Georgie chooses not to eat when she is very hungry. Georgie is also very judgemental about her own weight.

2. This whole book is supposedly about a time traveling phone or whatever and despite being 15% of the way through the book the time traveling phone has only been used once and she didn't even realize what it was.

3. Georgie's Mom married a man 3 years older than her daughter. That is completely inappropriate and I'd be upset with him trying to parent me too.

4. Georgie married and had 3 kids with a man who gets visibly angry when asked any sort of questions.

5. Georgie talks about "when" her 18yo sister will have kids not "if". You don't get to decide for her.

6. Georgie's Mom verbally shits on women who've had c-sections. I vaguely remember Georgie saying something awful too but I might have mis-remembered.

7. Neill does everything in and out of the house. I made a list of everything Neill does, reading to the kids and putting them to bed, cooking, painting (necessary and decorative), laundry, mowing, trimming trees, kept tulips in fridge (?), and planned their garden. The only thing Georgie has done so far is plan what plants will be in the garden and it was only because Neill insisted she pick. Georgie doesn't do a darn thing for her house or their 3 kids.
