What a writer. Oh my, what a writer. What a beautiful piece of literary fiction, what a beautiful piece of art.

It's not that the book is bad, The Paper House is wonderfully written and deals with a sensitive issue of mental illness and grief, however it just didn't really have that spark. It felt like it just dragged, became a bit boring and wondered where this story was actually going.
But maybe this book just wasn't for me

Definitely one of my favourite books of 2016. Stunning prose - loved it from the first page.

A devastatingly beautiful read with vivid imagery and relatable characters, this was an absolute joy to read. Can't wait for more from Anna Spargo-Ryan.

Cannot even articulate how beautifully written I found this book. Engaging plot and characters, too.

Occasionally I read a book that reaches deep inside and turns me inside out. A truly wonderful, wondrous, real, unreal, touching and thoughtful story. I can't recommended it any more highly.

Devastatingly sad, but somehow still hopeful. So beautifully and evocatively written.

A fantastic debut, filled with lyrical prose, for instance: "we strode through Melbourne, red against the greyness, salt in our veins."
