It's 1982, there was a strong belief in the gender devide and gender roles that was heavily portrayed within this book, very Harlequin "marriage in trouble" but with a wonderful, satisfying Cate C. Wells twist.
~Meddling family
~Marco's hot PA is always hovering
~Secret baby
~ Grovel and Hero redeemed himself
~quite a few spicy CNC scenes
~HEA
Cate is a fantastic author. Her books have this vibe that I can't even put my finger on. They just have that "something, something," and I love them.
This book was not a book that I necessarily would go for all on my own, so it was something really different and exciting for me to read, knowing I would be left satisfied afterwards that Marco would make it all right.
I love how Cate's characters always have such depth. They are so flawed and imperfect, so individual and fleshed out, and often times, truly relatable.
Loved Diane and Marco.

Um...not for me. Marriage in trouble is my favourite trope but this was not my jam.

I don't think these two characters were compatible at all. The story did not delve deep enough into the issues of their marriage. I feel like it was mostly based on their sex life but even then, it was not dealt with in as much detail as what I would have liked it to.
