Mrs. Everything = Misses Everything. Good look at the hardship of being a woman across decades.
This book is a great read and did not disappoint. Loyal Jennifer Weiner fans will love these sisters and their roller coaster life chapters. Their struggles ring true for the time periods they are living through and the complexity of their relationships with each other and with other characters is real. Awesome book!
Right now, I want to sit down with Jennifer Weiner, look her in the eye, and tell her 100 things. I want to take her hand, to make sure she hears what I say, and tell her how she captured my growing up era. I'm a baby boomer; we all have stories we want to share, and we all think our stories are the most important. Maybe they are.
I just completed this ARC. The tears aren't dry yet. I don't do a synopsis (why do people do that when there's a perfectly good one already written?) but... this covers it all, from the perspective of two (fictional) sisters just a titch older than I. It's simply but extraordinarily well done.
To Jennifer Weiner - I know I can't take you by the hand and tell you my 100 stories, so let me just say this, as simply but deeply as I can... thank you.
My one caveat - despite being a child of the 60s, I have a difficult time reading about drug use. Reading about it, even fictional use, causes a physical revulsion in me. There's some amount of that in a portion of the book, but it was *so* worth powering through.
Thank you to Net Galley for the ARC. I owe you.

the story of life told in the perspectives of two sisters. i constantly went back and forth between who was right and who was my favorite. i never knew where the book would lead to next and it had me gasping out loud. i think it has experiences that everyone can relate to. such a good read.

A little beach read-y for my taste, and since there were a lot of different topics breached, it felt like not all of the important stuff was resolved well. Otherwise, an incredibly good story, sadly relatable in many way, hopeful and sharp in others.
Heel graag gelezen. Sterke vrouwen, hun twijfels, tekortkomingen, en dat met op de achtergrond de veranderende vs.
Complex and infuriating characters
I liked this book. It does not have as much action or plot as I typically prefer, but I liked seeing the evolution of all of the characters. I liked seeing flawed people still being seen as worthy of love and forgiveness. It is not much of an escape as it deals with everything women endure in society and I have enough of that in my life at the moment.

I requested this book multiple times from the library and kept returning it. I decided this time I will listen to the audiobook and not return it until I am finished. I am so glad I finally listened. The narrators are awesome and the story is awesome. I was mad at times, wanted to scream at times, and cried at times. The storyline spans the years from the 1950's to 2016. I was born in the 50's . There were experiences of racism, sexism, and homosexuality. I could feel for the characters and at times felt like I wish I could tell them to talk to each other.
You will go through so many different emotions reading this book no matter what your life preferences are or your race. It is an awesome book.
