Whoo! A lot happened in this volume. Let's break it down.

Last time, Senku got shot by Stanley and Chrome was appointed as our new chief science-user. He continues our tunnel with the team away from the Perseus digging to get to Dr. Xeno. We also try give one of the petrification devices to Dr. Xeno because Senku thinks that he won't be able to resist trying to understand that tech. Chrome creates a road map on his own and envisions a drill to create said tunnel. Taiju goes to deliver the drill and picks up the driver, Carlos, (from the enemy's side) and we win him over to our side.

Senku "agrees" to be Luna's boyfriend so that she'll patch him up.

Dogfight and it's pretty thrilling, and Senku uses acetylene gas to stall the engine, though we end up being affected by it too.  We win? But who's the person coming out of the cockpit? Looks like Stanley, but who is she?

At the same time, an attack approaches the Perseus from below. They shoot a torpedo at the ship and attempt to commandeer it, but we fight back AND when Dr. Xeno thinks he's won, our tunnel diggers break through. We capture the doctor and he and Senku meet face to face again. Meanwhile, we manage to steal their boat and we make a deal- we give the secret to making revival fluid so that we'll have 1 million people in "Corn City." With that, our team (Senku, Dr. Xeno, Chrome, Ryusui,Taiju, Suika, Kohaku, Ukyo, Hyoga, Tsukasa and 3 people from the other side?) leave the rest of our Kingdom of Science behind to develop this land and its resources.

---------------------------------------------------------

It's a little emotional to be leaving behind our team. It won't be easy, what with only Minami being able to speak English, but I think can't wait to get to South America, where we're heading next. This was a really fun volume and I loved seeing Chrome take a leadership role, though Senku wasn't down for very long. I also wish Chrome was on the cover, but I guess he's not as fun for Boichi to draw, huh? Love the teamwork, as always.

ps. Why were people saying that Stanley wouldn't stand for this or that? We haven't gotten much characterization from him, so what's he about except being a great soldier?

5/5 Stars (%89/100)

The war between Senku and Xeno continues as both create new scientific tools and weapons. After thousands of years, Senku and Xeno finally meet in this volume. The interaction and conversation between the two were brilliant. I am really liking Xeno and even though he is a bit annoying, Stanley is also interesting. After capturing Xeno they decide to form some sort of alliance because Senku offers the revival fluid formula. While Senku and a couple of people decide to go to South America, many members of Perseus stay behind in order to build the corn city. This is currently the last volume released and I'm very intrigued by the story.
