I can understand why this isn’t a favorite to some of this series. I cried at least 6 times during this book. While the other book of this series only brought joy this one had emotional struggles and twice the tears were from joy but only twice the others were struggling sad tears. I loved their story and this one might be my favorite even in the sadness.

Previous books in this series had an more even dual narrative. This book is more from Beau's narrative. Shelly does have OCD and not the kind where you have to put your books in a certain way.

Eh, the whole story was very meh.

I first thought it was very funny. The way the FMC was ripping Beau apart was super hilarious, but then at about 40%, it got kind of boring?

I was really inclined to like Beau from his brothers story, but I was let down. Beau wasn't as interesting as he was portrayed in prior books. He was nice, kind, accommodating, but very plain.

#1. I don't get how he went from hating the FMC to like loving her so fast?
#2. His reaction to learning who his real mom is was super anti climactic.

Shelly was funny at first, but then when they introduced her OCD, it became everything that she is. She was no longer funny. She was just sad & depressing.
She had no personality past that

Ugh. I listened to the whole thing so that I could get the background story with the biker gang drama.

Beau is just such a great guy. He's patient, loyal, gentle, honest, hard working and sexy. Shelly his love interest is something you don't see a lot of in books. She's a tall, sexy auto mechanic, a famous artist, and has some OCD issues. Them coming together, involves therapy, talking her issues over and patience. (something I lack) I just got so tired of her issues getting in the way. yeh I'm a horrible insensitive person. :P I didn't want to listen to her program, one more time. I felt bad for Beau that he had to tiptoe around her.

There was a big secret revealed, HUGE ! it knocked me on the floor.

i didn't enjoy this one as much as I did other works from Penny Reid. Still it's a 4 star read of sexy humor.

This one was my least favorite of the series.  While I felt like Penny Reid did a really good job of showing what OCD really is, and what it can look like to live with it (I say this purely as someone who does NOT have OCD), I felt like the development of the romance was lacking some.  Beau goes from finding Shelly to be the only person he's ever met that he can't stand, to being completely obsessed and fascinated with her once he understood why she behaves like she does.  I will say, he had a hard time getting her out of his mind before he found out about her diagnosis, but usually because he experience such a strong physical attraction to her.  I'm definitely in the minority here, but I just felt like he went from basically hating her guts, to never wanting to be away from her VERY quickly, and that felt a little flat for me.

I love how Penny includes chapter heading quotes that go with the theme of the novel. And so happy to finally get a glimpse into the complicated mind of happy-go-lucky Beau.

The men were too ‘Sons of Anarchy’ for my taste with all the car and stripper and badassery, but it was an entertaining read. It was nice to have a character with OCD and themes about each person bringing their damage to a relationship, and how it doesn’t make them less love able. But eh, just ok.
