I am so glad that they got the happy ending that they wanted or she did.

This book was a very good end to the series (at least, the first end since the series is continuing, after 12 years) and I'm very happy with it.

I didn't love the first half of the book to be honest because I was seriously mad at Suze for how she was behaving and for her decisions. But after that, I finally started to get into it. I just wish that Paul had died or something because I don't like him.

I really liked the story and I was liked the characters, even Susannah after some time. The writing was good and easy to read and like all the other books in the series, this one was also quite short and I flew through it.

I had two problems with the book. One was that I didn't really buy the whole "epic love" thing. I guess we just didn't see the relationship between Jesse and Susannah grow throughout the series. So even through I ship them, I just didn't buy the magnitude of Susannah's feeling. Also, don't really agree with her when she says that her life would be over without him. It didn't seem like there relationship was that serious and I think she was being overdramatic. She was seriousy obsessive over Jesse.

The other problem was the plot holes. There were a few of them (more than a few if you think about it). I can't mention them because they're all spoiler filled but I'll mention a few for those who have read it.

SpoilerShe went to the past and changed a bunch of stuff. Like killing Diego wich destroyed an entire bloodline. The fact that Jesse didn't die and his body was never found so Maria never came for Suze which would ultimately lead to her never really finding out about Paul because they would be no Diego ghost. Jesse would also not he haunting Suze's room... I could go on and on...

So yeah, plot holes. Lots of 'em. It makes me feel unsure about the rating.

First half was awful. Second half much better, but still suffered from unbearable predictability. I feel the last book and this could have easily been combined as there was so much repetition. It got old fast. And the ending was robbed of satisfaction because it had so hammered in all the revealing points that would solve everything. It didn't have a chance to be a surprise or emotionally impactful. it was just a little too much wish fulfillment, and it didn't have to be. I think it could have been done much better if it had been set up right in all the other books and been more subtle with somethings and a little more clear with others. The last part that really made this difficult to read was Suze's incredible stupidity. It seriously took forever for her to understand anything simply because the plot called for it. It was still fun and fast to read, but I feel a little generous giving it three stars honestly. I think the ending saved it, but only just barely.

Wow, what a great ending to a great series. I love Susannah and Jesse, and this book finally gave them the happiness that they deserved from the beginning.

Perfect ending... It made me cry. Well, maybe that's because I loved the characters so much :)

Me at 13: Suze kicks way less butt in this book. Only 3/5.
Me at 23: That's okay, it was an emotionally complete ending. 5/5.

So it averages out to 4/5.

I was always wondering how it was going to work out for Suze and Jesse and I love the way it does - he deserved the second chance.
