A Herculean-undertaking for Lewis, presenting one of the twentieth century's greatest comic minds as an intensely broken and cruel man. The reader is left little room to make up their own mind about Sellers, but Lewis' wealth of research is hard to argue with. The author's compulsive desire to scrutinise Sellers' performance in his every single film and television appearance is responsible for the book's heft.
