I can see this being the basis for the upcoming film. Good on is own, but better with some knowledge of the characters. Excellent art.

I really liked where this was going, but it seems like the comic run ended while it was still at the beginning of the story. Characters were introduced and a situation was started, but then it just suddenly ends with no closure whatever. If the story continued, it would be great.

An update/relaunch of [a: Jack Kirby|10299|Jack Kirby|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1206594751p2/10299.jpg]'s Eternals by my beloved Neil; sadly, I'm not loving it. There were aspects of it that I really liked—the first part of the plot involves amnesia, which is kind of a shoo-in for me—and I think Gaiman did amazing, creepy, tragic things with the character of Sprite. But frankly, the whole Eternals mythology is kind of stupid—it's based on Chariot of the Gods? for Christ's sake. (And yes, I know: Stargate fan here. But trust me: in comparison to whatever's going on in this comic, Stargate makes a lot of sense.) I don't know if there's anything Gaiman could have really done with that, but whatever he did do just wasn't enough for me. That this storyline is supposed to serve to relaunch the title—that it's essentially the pilot for the series—doesn't help matters, either; there's a feeling at the end that things are just getting going, like all the really interesting stuff is yet to come. So while it's not terrible by any means, and is in fact occasionally fun, it's really not up to what I consider to be the usual Gaiman-standards. It's nothing to get excited about.

A good story - lost me a bit at times because of how the sections flipped back and forth. Would have liked to see more of Sersi's powers!

I read this because I had a trial of Marvel Unlimited and it's by Neil Gaiman. I hadn't read the original at all. So I lacked the background or content interest to really keep me engaged. But the writing was sharp and the art was great. I'm just unlikely to read the originals any time soon.
