Dare I say my favorite Austen? I could read about her nagging on English aristocracy and societal status forever. I’m also choosing to overlook the whole crush on a cousin thing since this is around the time of Victorian England….anyway, Fanny defender forever.
One of my favorites!! I love this book. It's girly and sappy, but I love it!
Fanny is such a nothing character. Henry Crawford was really the better choice.
3.5 stars
I have previously read Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility and i enjoyed those two books a lot, so i already knew that i was a fan of Jane Austen's writing. This is definitely a much slower read than her P&P or S&S so it took some more kind of plowing through to complete this book. Having said that, i still really enjoyed this book.
I did have a little trouble with the ending, not the way it ended, which of course i loved, but just that after reading over 400 pages leading up to this certain event that i really wanted more from it.
Other than that i still really enjoyed this book and i can't wait to move on to more of Austen's works.

Pretty good though the love interest not really being interested in the MC until the last 2 min of the audio was pretty lame
I didn’t love this as much as I thought I would! still delightfully Austen, but just a lot of fluff around the edges I wasn’t as interested in. it was interesting to see Fanny’s view of her family shift from the beginning to the end of the book.
At present, Fanny is the most relatable main character for me from Austen's works. I really liked her as a protagonist, her life has various similarities with mine. I also loved the plot, although slow at the beginning, it was very interesting and somehow intense from the middle to the end. One of my favourite books by Austen, even though a certain aspect of the ending (which I won't mention, since it would be a spoiler) made me feel a bit uncomfortable.
The weakest of Jane Austen's novels. The heroine is not relatable and the plot is long and tedious. Even the fact that the hero's name is Edmond doesn't make it better (which, if you know me, any character named Edmond is automatically awesome in my book).
