I feel like the ending was a bit rushed but overall, the plot had me hooked. Lots of science and historical bases covered in this book which I really enjoyed.

A biological thriller that is a fun enough ride, though it’s nothing ground breaking.

I put off finishing this book because I just wasn’t that interested. I thought about DNFing throughout the book. The virus started off interesting and then it turned into a bad B rated film plot. I would have liked more jungle and animal scenes and less special forces scenes, it was very action/guns/military and it would have been cooler if it was more science based. I did like Kane - he was the best part of the whole book. I won’t be reading any more Rollins. It is not for me.

Like most of Rollins' Sigma Force books, there is a lot of truth behind the plots to go along with the fiction. This tome takes us to the darkest part of the dark continent and deep into the Congo basin. Strange flora and fauna abound and untold mysteries also abound. Its history has been rife with plunder for the minerals and for control of the resources. Rollins weaves these into a spellbinding story that takes the Sigma Force into places unfamiliar and hostile, yet they once again prevail but not without the toughest trials they have faced to date.
