4.5/ 5🌟 for all 3 in the series.
Favorite quotes from the series:
"Do you know how magic works?
The kind of magic that gets reindeer to fly in the sky? The kind that helps Father Christmas travel around the world in a single night? The kind that can stop time and make dreams come true? Hope. That's how. Without hope, there would be no magic."
"He knew terrible things- even the most terrible things-couldn't stop the world from turning. Life went on. And he made a promise to himself that, when he grew older, he'd try to be like his mother. Colourful, and happy and kind and full of joy."
"How to be jolly even when times are bad'.." (swype to see this fun list by Father Christmas!)
"An impossibility is just a possibility you don’t understand yet."
» A Boy Called Christmas
I flew through this one. Yes, it is meant for children, but I love Matt Haig's writing and thought I could use a lightheaded read this month.
The first book explained the origins of Santa Claus. How he grew up, found the elf village, learned to use magic, and ultimately what led him to become the Santa Claus we all have come to know. It was a fun read!
» The Girl Who Saved Christmas
The second book followed a little girl whose belief in magic helped to start Santa's yearly trip around the world. It explained the adventures/troubles she went through (with her cat by her side 😊) before Father Christmas came along. Also, it introduced Mrs Claus! Another fun read.
» Father Christmas and Me
The third book left off where the other ended with Father Christmas, Mary, & Amelia living in Elf village. It also introduced the Easter Bunny and his army. I enjoyed this one, too... But I liked the first two the best.
To sum up my thoughts... I recommend this series for fun, easy, lightheaded Christmas reads for you or your kids.

S and I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Amelia is such a brilliant character going through a really awful time. I loved the magic of this book. We've gone straight in with the next book.

I think I liked this book better than A Boy Called Christmas. I'm looking forward to reading the 3rd book.
