The Irish war of independence— 1920– this can be such a complex aspect of Irish history that reading about it through fiction (with historical people and events) made book 3 in the series  compelling and read quickly.  The ending didn’t tie up all the pieces as thoroughly as I’d like, but all the characters in the US are squared away quite well.

Enjoying this series. One thing I noticed though: near the end JohnJoe says “let’s get outta Dodge.” That was an expression that hadn’t yet started during the time period of this book.
