I picked this up at the wrong time of year. A dark gothic read with unlikeable characters isn't what I want to read in the summer.

It was okayish. A lot doesn‘t make sense and the end is still confusing. There was one too many twists and the shadow thing at the end that snatched Ned came out of nowhere. There was no mentioning of anything of the kind throughout the book. It seemed misplaced.
The atmosphere was great though. The gothic, kinda horror, vibe was well done.
Still I couldn‘t quite follow the plot…
