Daisy Jones and the six was a fantastic audiobook to listen to the cast of characters added so much to the story. I loved the pace of the book, the way it was told by the characters in an interview setting cutting between them. It was so vivid, Taylor has such a beautiful way to bring her characters to life, giving them flaws struggles and making us hope that they make it through.

I kept flitting between giving this a 2 or 3 star rating because it did definitely pick up and grabbed me towards the end, but I just couldn’t justify that 3rd star because the other 75% of it dragged for me. I don’t think the style of writing was for me - it felt like I was reading a script, like the author had written the book with the sole intention of it being made into a TV show. I also didn’t get invested in any of the characters until very late on coz they were all arseholes tbh. Just not my cup of tea but, saying that, it was easy to read and the characters were well created and their personalities very clear and established.

I think maybe the 4.5 was like my rating from a figment to time that is not right now. I would rate it a 3.5, I read the lyrics to the songs at the end of the book and oh my they are kind of bad.

4.5
Such a fun and fresh read. It was easy and quick to read. My favorite character was definitely Karen and her discussions about the loss of a woman's personhood when they become a mother. I really enjoyed the interview and differing point of view perspective since it displayed just the variety of ideas and conflicting beliefs occurring. Loved it, very fun and cool!

It just kinda dragged on, didn’t it? The ending wasn’t all that crazy or sad to me, some of the characters were a bit silly and when I got halfway through, I kept asking myself “What is the point of all this? Can we please get to the point?”
It started as a 5 star rating, halfway through it dropped to a 4 and the ending dropped it to a 3. I can see though why so many love this book. I myself loved the setting and quotes.
Oh and i look forward to watching the show at some point.
