well.

this was good, a bit intriguing. spencer’s injuries were a dead giveaway of the twist, but i genuinely thought the author was trying to bait me, the reader. oh well.

but there was another twist towards the end that was pretty unexpected. the execution, though, suffered. there was more showing than telling, and there was less focus on the headmaster’s list when that is quite literally the title.

I first read one of the authors books back in 2015 and then again with Alex and Eliza. This book though, was totally unexpected to me but it was so freaking good. I scoured her past books to find more mystery thrillers she has written but sadly there was only one other. The good news is that I now have that one on hold!

Okay, this is YA, has a death, scandal, rich kids and a podcast. A recipe for success that’s for sure.

As much as I enjoyed the story, I did find it got a bit convoluted  and didn’t tie together as well as I hoped. It started to feel like too many plot lines and not enough of a wrap up.
